What is PayPal?
PayPal is an e-commerce business allowing payments and money transfers to be made through the Internet. PayPal serves as an electronic alternative to traditional paper methods such as checks and money orders and has been involved in many cases of litigation concerning fraud scams.
A PayPal account can be funded with an electronic debit from a bank account or by a credit card. The recipient of a PayPal transfer can either request a check from PayPal, establish their own PayPal deposit account or request a transfer to their bank account. PayPal is an example of a payment intermediary service that facilitates worldwide e-commerce.
PayPal in Nepal or PayPal to Nepal
PayPal in Nepal is not easy and flexible to use. It is because of the fact PayPal cannot be linked to any of our Nepalese Banks directly. We being a Nepalese can sign up freely in PayPal but can not get verified easily. In most of the cases, it is fine, as most of the Nepalese (for eg: IT Freelancers) do not require TOP UP but mostly require an easier way to collect their payments from different parts for the world. So withdrawing funds to Nepal Bank Accounts from PayPal is not easy. However, you can use moneybookers.com now known as skrill.com which allows withdrawal to Nepali Banks.

If you want to make payments using your paypal account with Nepal address, you need to get a Visa Dollar Credit Card from A class Banks of Nepal. You also need to request them to enable online payments on those credit cards. Once you have that enabled, you can link it to your PayPal and make payments or can pay directly using such credit cards. It is 100% legal in Nepal.

Yes Suraj, you can now do that. There is a newly established merchant payment gateway called http://www.payway.com.np that allows you buy international credit cards. You can sign up to PayPal and get yourself verified through such credit cards. Once you are verified you can easily send and receive money from any PayPal users.
Also when you require to withdraw funds to Nepal, you can use payway.com.np to withdraw it to Nepal. It gives you best rate then any other providers in Nepal.
well i have just created a/c in payway and added banck a/c too now my a/c is verified in payway.com.np. i have a/c in paypal but still unverified. to verify ineed to add debit or credit card number, expiry date etc. but how can i give such data? do i have to put my bank (NIBL) debit card number, expiry date etc to verify in paypal? will it be safe? i’m scared that ppl will misuse my card after all i have to put my every private detail of debit card if anyone knows then i’ll be bankrupt.:( plz clarify me on what i’m not getting.

@Shrawan: No PayPal does not recognize your NIBL account. For this you will have to enter international Credit Cards. I bought a Virtual Credit Card from PayWay and used it to verify my PayWay. Earlier I had problem when I opened a paypal account with Nepal address. But I have again opened a new paypal with US address of my friend and added PayWay VCC. You can buy that from PayWay shop.

yes payway vcc is great and fast. It has made our dream come true to open a paypal account from Nepal. But there are some problems in vcc. please check the disclaimer by payway. it is very great of payway that they have already informed about such issues in there disclaimer.
I suggest open a paypal with this vcc and do the transaction but dont keep your money longer in paypal. you can always withdraw it through payway.
@Rajan: I would suggest every one to open PayPal account with PayWay VCC only from countries other than Nepal. Dont use Nepal as your country location.

@Deelip: Its true that PayPal doesnt really allow this. But how would you run and collect your payments if you are a Nepalese? Infact, in the disclaimer, we have clearly mentioned that it is not 100% and paypal might block it in future.
We are just giving an option and not forcing anyone to buy it.
ALSO…Because of this fact and criticism, we have already removed VCC options.

As far as I know PayWay is already providing PayPal services to its old verified customers who has good account history with them. Its just that they are not providing it to new customers because of the chargeback issues they had with few customers.

Since PayWay has disabled PayPal topup, my funds have been stuck months over months. Now I really need to withdraw funds to NIBL but my paypal account is unverified so my sending limit is zero always. I can’t send but can only receive funds from my clients. I have waited lot time to payway to enable paypal service to payway users like me but still not happening. Now I don’t want to take risk. My funds will remain as unmovable funds in payway. so I am asking for help to payway team and payway fans and all freelancer who can help me to withdraw my paypal funds to NIBL by any means.
I have US address in my paypal account and it is a premier account. To get verified I need to link US bank account that’s not possible. but I do have friend in US whos address I have put in my paypal . so I have found several options:
1. should I link his bank account to my account in order to verify the account and send all money to his account so that he can send me money by other resources? He has already linked his bank to his paypal. So problem is paypal doesn’t allow any user to use same bank account to multiple user. Moreover paypal account personal info and bank account info should match /belong to one person. that’s what I came to know after I googled all day.
2. Should I use VCC to verify my account where as I read on some blog that vcc won’t work to US paypal accounts. and my account address has US address.
3. Should I use VBA (virtual bank account)? but I wonder will it work?
4. or should I wait payway to enable paypal topup ?

Using such services can block your Paypal accounts permanently. If you are stil in confusion write an email to paypal about Payway, esewa and other services in Nepal. I HAVE VERIFIED PAYPAL ACCOUNT ( i verified it with mastercard which was sent to me via hulak from usa). In both paypal and mastercard my address is Nepal.

Hi you can use instant digital Visa card for verify PayPay. You can make your digital US driver licence and Bank statement it is passed by US senate. I have a different case,
I made paypal account to use Ebay. I want sell some products via ebay. For this I need paypal account to get paid.I did everything but my Nepali Debit card issuer (NIBL) Can’t verified my card for paypal.
In paypal i can’t use other foreign bank card to get paid because I need to operate ebay from Nepal. So they track my IP and know that i am using form Nepal… Thus, Card from Foreign bank in paypal and working from Nepal is not allowed there ??
